QC Scientist 2 (12m FTC)

Overview

• Perform QC release testing of finished products using techniques including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Dissolution, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Karl Fischer, Ultraviolet, Thin Layer Chromatography, pH and balances.
• Review analytical testing completed by junior scientists.
• Support validation studies by creating test plans and executing testing.
• Prepare stability reports and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Identify and investigate Out of Specification/Out of Trend results and support deviation investigations.
• Ensure testing is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
• Interpret schedules and prioritise workload effectively.
• Maintain laboratory standards through 5S, stock management, and participation in laboratory rotas.
• Support audit readiness, training activities, archiving, and quality system compliance.
• Train colleagues where required and support team objectives.
• Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, and laboratory safety requirements, promoting a safe working environment.
• Degree in a Scientific, Biotech or similar subject required or equivalent experience.
• Experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography.
• IT literate, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Team player.
• Good team collaboration skills.
• Experience working within a GMP environment
