Founding Full-Stack iOS Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a founding engineering role at a YC-backed consumer wearable startup in the emotional intelligence space. You will own the companion iOS app end-to-end, translating real-time emotional-state outputs from a proprietary AI inference model into a polished, intuitive consumer experience. As one of the earliest team members, you will shape the primary user touchpoint and have a direct hand in defining how the product grows.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the companion iOS app from architecture through deployment and ongoing iteration.
• Surface emotional-state insights from the core inference model through clean, accessible interfaces.
• Build and ship a consumer-grade mobile experience that meets a high bar for polish and usability.
• 2 or more years of professional iOS engineering experience; this role is not suitable for fresh graduates.
• Strong Swift proficiency and the ability to own technical decisions autonomously as a founding engineer.
• A proven track record shipping polished, consumer-grade iOS applications.
• Experience building data-driven apps that present complex model outputs through intuitive interfaces.
• Solid CS fundamentals and comfort working independently across time zones.
• Ability to work without new visa sponsorship (visa transfers are acceptable).

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary: $150,000 USD (or approximately GBP 75,000 for London-based candidates). The role also includes meaningful early-stage equity, up to 1 to 2%. No new visa sponsorship; visa transfers are welcome.

LOCATION

On-site in London, England, United Kingdom. The team also has presence in San Francisco; candidates in other locations with flexibility to work across time zones may be considered.
