Senior Ruby Developer

Overview

• We are looking for a hands-on Senior Ruby Engineer to lead the development of Ruby-based applications and extensions.
• You will work as part of a global Agile team to design, build, and maintain high-quality features that deliver value to internal and external users.
• You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Domain Experts, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across Ruby services and supporting components.
• Drive continuous improvement through refactoring, increasing test coverage, performance tuning, and technical debt reduction.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Ruby Engineer to lead the development of Ruby-based applications and extensions. You will work as part of a global Agile team to design, build, and maintain high-quality features that deliver value to internal and external users. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Domain Experts, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across Ruby services and supporting components. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives. Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews while maintaining team coding standards. Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing. Collaborate with Product Owners and Domain Experts to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and refine acceptance criteria. Partner with DevOps/Platform teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and operational runbooks. Drive continuous improvement through refactoring, increasing test coverage, performance tuning, and technical debt reduction. Support production incident triage, contribute to postmortems, and implement preventative measures. Design and develop reliable backend services and APIs. Contribute to the architecture and evolution of service-oriented and distributed systems. Requirements 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Ruby . Strong experience building and operating backend services and APIs using REST and/or GraphQL . Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and distributed systems fundamentals. Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL , including schema design and SQL optimization. Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest , including factory tools and test-first development. Familiarity with caching and real-time technologies such as Redis or equivalent. Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps . Strong knowledge of Git and modern code-review workflows, including branching and merge strategies. Proficiency in object-oriented programming . Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
