Manufacturing Project Lead

Overview

• Lead strategic manufacturing projects assigned by the Plant Manager with clear business impact.
• Support ramp-up of Consumer Business by coordinating capacity, readiness, and execution across functions.
• Drive stabilization and performance improvement of Automotive IC Final Test operations.
• Coordinate introduction and industrialization of new foundry and semiconductor business opportunities.
• Manage cross-functional task forces involving MST, MFI, LOG, QMM, Engineering, and Business Units.
• Act as primary interface between Manufacturing (MST) and Manufacturing IT (MFI) for digitalization, automation, and system integration initiatives.
• Monitor project milestones, risks, KPIs, and escalation topics, ensuring timely management reporting.
• Drive sustainable improvements in quality, productivity, delivery performance, and manufacturing competitiveness.
• Develop and manage the Technology & Digitalization Roadmap for Manufacturing together with MST and MFI, ensuring long-term system scalability, automation integration, and operational efficiency.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or related industrial environments
• 3+ years of demonstrated project leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
• Strong semiconductor manufacturing and project management expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to lead through influence, structure complex topics, and deliver results in dynamic environments.

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction began in May 2021, and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Project Lead to join our operations team in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. In this role, you drive strategic manufacturing initiatives and special projects supporting business growth, operational excellence, and transformation across PgP5. The role closely collaborates with Manufacturing (MST) and acts as a key interface to Manufacturing IT (MFI). The focus on manufacturing strategic projects, consumer ramp-up, IC final test stabilization, and potentially new foundry business introduction is aligned with current PgP5 priorities documented in internal planning notes.
