ABOUT THE BUSINESS ANALYTICS TEAM

The Business Analytics team unlocks strategic opportunities and enables Thumbtack to reach its full business potential. We own the metrics, dashboards, and forums that measure progress against company goals and build shared understanding of how the marketplace works. We run the deep-dive analyses that shape company strategy and team execution, and we use data to tell Thumbtack’s story to our team, our investors, and our Board. We are a tight-knit group that partners directly with leadership and cares as much about building a world-class team as we do about driving business impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• You’ll be a steward of key company metrics and dashboards, and you’ll dive deep on the analytical questions most critical to Thumbtack’s success.
• You’ll partner with our leadership team to develop company strategy and goals, share performance updates with the Board, and work across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to turn analysis into decisions.

As a Sr. Data Scientist on Business Analytics, you’ll drive insights and action across the breadth of the marketplace, with a particular focus on conversion and monetization. You’ll be a steward of key company metrics and dashboards, and you’ll dive deep on the analytical questions most critical to Thumbtack’s success. You’ll partner with our leadership team to develop company strategy and goals, share performance updates with the Board, and work across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to turn analysis into decisions. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants their work to change what the company does next.
