Junior Transformation Strategist (UK Based)

Overview

• GET TO THE INSIGHT
• Dive into how work actually happens: interviews, extracts, handoffs, exceptions and the workarounds people use to keep things running.
• Build a fact base that shows where cost, cash, service, cycle time or control is being lost.
• Form a hypothesis early, name what would kill it, and pressure-test it with the Transformation Strategist before you polish anything.
• Structure unfamiliar problems without waiting for a perfect brief. Frame the selection equation (what matters, what does not) so the team and the customer can decide.
• DELIVER OUTPUT THAT MOVES A DECISION
• Turn analysis into decision-ready slides, one-pagers and memos that make the important choice obvious.
• Be exact about baselines, assumptions and evidence. Do not use polish to hide uncertainty.
• Work fast: same-day or next-day turnarounds on defined asks are the norm, not the exception.
• Produce materials a Transformation Strategist can take into a working session or steerco with minimal rewrite.
• BE FUNGIBLE SURGE CAPACITY ON BIG ACCOUNTS
• Plug into multiple live enterprise accounts as extra hands where the Transformation Strategist needs analytical depth.
• Jump between problem types without needing a long ramp each time.
• Keep a clean trail of actions, open questions and evidence so work can be handed between you, the Transformation Strategist and the FDE without loss.
• Surface blockers early; do not sit on ambiguity hoping it resolves.
• BUILD THE EVIDENCE FOR IMPACT
• Help lock baseline, target and measurement window before implementation.
• Quantify results in language a CFO would trust (revenue, margin, cost, working capital, cycle time, control), not activity counts or sentiment.

THE ROLE

As a Junior Transformation Strategist, you are the insight and output engine beside our Transformation Strategists on our largest accounts.

On bigger engagements we need more than technical delivery. We need someone who can take a messy process, find the critical question, get to a clear insight fast, and put it into materials a customer team will act on. Today that work often lands on Forward Deployed Engineers. That is the wrong use of a scarce technical resource. This role exists so that insight work has a dedicated owner.

You will work alongside Transformation Strategists (who own day-to-day account presence and workstream direction) and Forward Deployed Engineers (who own the technical solution). You do not own the executive relationship or the commercial outcome. You own the speed and quality of the analytical and written work that makes those conversations possible.

This is a fungible problem-solving role. You will be thrown at different accounts and different problem types (category, supply chain, finance ops, inventory, commercial) and expected to produce. Ideal for someone currently ~2–4 years into a client-facing career as an Associate, Senior Associate, or Consultant at McKinsey or BCG who wants concentrated ownership, not another staffing cycle.
