IOTA Group is looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer - Cooling Specialist to join its teams within a leading international energy management and industrial technology company , supporting the commissioning of critical cooling systems on a major project in the United Arab Emirates .
Overview
- Perform pre-commissioning inspections of primary and secondary piping, hydraulic components and electrical connections.
- Verify correct installation, wiring, termination, mounting and overall mechanical integrity of the equipment.
- Confirm completion and adequacy of system flushing and perform visual inspections to identify defects, leaks or installation issues.
- Perform commissioning and start-up checks on primary and secondary cooling circuits .
- Verify electrical power systems including voltage, phase sequence, grounding, protection devices and power supply integrity .
- Check the installation, calibration and operational readiness of sensors and control devices .
- Support initial filling, flushing, air purging and hydraulic balancing of the secondary loop.
- Test pumps and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and verify rotation, control response and operational performance.
- Perform functional testing of control sequences, alarms, safeties and interlocks .
- Carry out communication testing through BACnet / Modbus and verify correct integration with the Building Management System (BMS) .
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of the Cooling Distribution Units.
- Monitor CDU operation and system performance through the Human Machine Interface (HMI) .
- Record operating parameters including temperatures, pressures, flow rates, pump status, valve positions and alarms.
- Extract available event and alarm logs and contribute to the preparation of commissioning and test reports.
- Provide onsite standby support and immediate troubleshooting in case of abnormal operating conditions or system alarms.
- Strong practical knowledge and experience with cooling systems .
- Proven experience in commissioning, start-up or testing of cooling equipment and associated systems .
- Good understanding of hydraulic circuits, pumps, VFDs, instrumentation and control systems .
- Knowledge of BMS communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus .
- Ability to perform commissioning inspections, functional testing and troubleshooting activities onsite.
- Comfortable working with HMI systems , operational parameters, alarms and equipment status.
- English proficiency required.
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural project environment.

- Working schedule: Resident position - 6 days per week / 4x1 rotation

The position is based at the Khazna Site in Ajman, UAE , and will focus on the pre-commissioning, start-up, testing and operational support of Cooling Distribution Units (CDU) .
As Commissioning Engineer - Cooling Specialist , you will be responsible for supporting the commissioning and start-up activities of Cooling Distribution Units and associated hydraulic, electrical and control systems .
