Extrusion Lamination Team Leader

Overview

• Work as first line machine operator and monitor the Tandem Extrusion Lamination machine , including extruders, unwinder, laminating/nip stations, chillers, winding and associated systems.
• Set and control critical process parameters such as extruder temperature, melt temperature, pressure, screw RPM, line speed, coating weight, nip pressure, corona treatment and web tension .
• Ensure correct resin, additives, substrate and adhesive/material specifications as per job card and approved recipe.
• Carry out machine start-up, changeover, shutdown and grade/product changeover as per SOP.
• Monitor laminate quality for bond strength, coating weight, appearance, wrinkles, air entrapment, tunnelling, delamination, gauge variation, edge build-up and winding quality .
• Maintain required OEE, productivity, wastage and line-speed targets while ensuring product quality.
• Identify process abnormalities and take immediate corrective action to minimize breakdowns, defects, rework and wastage .
• Conduct first-level troubleshooting of machine/process-related issues and coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Production Planning and Process/Technical teams when required.
• Ensure accurate recording of production quantity, wastage, downtime, process parameters and material consumption in ERP/system and relevant production records.
• Follow approved SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, safety procedures and 5S requirements .
• Ensure proper handling and reconciliation of resins, substrates, cores and other production materials .
• Participate in RCA, 5-Why, CAPA, Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to reduce wastage and improve machine efficiency.
• Maintain housekeeping around the machine and ensure safe working conditions at all times.
• Communicate shift-wise production status, machine abnormalities, quality issues and pending actions during shift handover .
• Qualification ITI, Diploma, or Graduate
• . Experience Minimum 8 years of experience operating Extrusion lamination machines mainly tandem machine
