Position Summary
The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional spa and wellness experiences to hotel guests through professional, personalized, and high-quality treatments. The role requires strong technical knowledge of spa therapies, with particular expertise in Thai massage and traditional Thai spa treatments.
The Spa Therapist is expected to maintain the highest standards of guest care, professionalism, hygiene, treatment quality, and service excellence in line with the standards of a luxury hotel and international spa environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and professionally attend to guests, creating a warm, relaxed, and personalized spa experience.
- Conduct professional guest consultations to understand individual preferences, wellness requirements, and treatment expectations.
- Perform a range of professional spa treatments and massages in accordance with approved treatment procedures and hotel standards.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical expertise in Thai massage , including traditional Thai massage techniques, stretching, pressure-point work, and appropriate body positioning.
- Deliver other massage treatments such as Swedish, Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue, Balinese or other treatments as trained and certified.
- Recommend appropriate treatments and wellness experiences based on guest requirements, while maintaining a professional and non-sales-oriented approach.
- Explain treatment procedures, benefits, contraindications, and aftercare recommendations clearly to guests.
- Ensure all treatments are delivered safely, consistently, and according to established treatment protocols.
- Maintain a high level of personal presentation, grooming, hygiene, and professional conduct at all times.
- Ensure treatment rooms, spa facilities, equipment, linens, products, and amenities are clean, hygienic, organized, and ready for guest use.
- Follow all hotel, spa, health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect guest privacy throughout the treatment experience.
- Identify and appropriately communicate any guest concerns, health-related contraindications, or unusual conditions to the Spa Manager.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and follow established procedures for product and equipment usage.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of spa products, oils, towels, and other treatment supplies.
- Promote a calm, relaxing, and luxurious atmosphere throughout the spa.
- Support the Spa Manager and team in achieving guest satisfaction, treatment quality, and departmental objectives.
- Participate in spa promotions, wellness activities, training programs, and continuous professional development.
- Maintain awareness of current spa, wellness, and massage trends and continuously develop technical knowledge.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate complaints or service concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient daily spa operations.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Spa Manager or management.
- Strong practical knowledge of Thai Massage and Thai Spa therapies .
- Excellent massage and body treatment techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, pressure points, stretching, and massage movements.
- Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide personalized treatments according to individual guest needs.
- Good knowledge of spa hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Professional grooming and presentation.
- Strong communication skills and a pleasant, service-oriented personality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multicultural team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to treatment quality.
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional under pressure.
- Strong understanding of luxury hospitality service standards.
- Professional qualification or recognized certification in Spa Therapy, Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy, or a related field.
- Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in Thai Massage is highly desirable.
- Previous experience as a Spa Therapist in a luxury hotel
